Sales Assistant (part-time, 6 hours per week)

This role is a part-time position, consisting of 6 hours per week, including every other weekend. Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be 18 years or over and hold a valid UK drivers' licence. Additional hours may be available to cover holiday and busier periods. 

We plan to hold initial interviews on Thursday 24th April 2025.

What are we looking for?

Our shops house a wide range of Adnams products including our award-winning beers, wines and handcrafted spirits, as well as homeware and food ranges and we are looking to recruit a Sales Assistant.

You will be knowledgeable and friendly with a passion for our products ready to deliver the shopping experience our customers come back for time and time again. 

As our Sales Assistant you will:

• Have selling experience within a retail environment
• Be confident but approachable, comfortable in customer engagement
• Have a passion for the Adnams brand and an enthusiasm to increase product knowledge
• Have a desire to develop a detailed knowledge of the categories, in particular wine
• Be a collaborative team player

Core responsibilities:

• Actively maintain store presentation standards
• Consistently warmly greet customers entering the store; actively approach and engage to understand their purchase requirements
• Recommend appropriate products, highlighting the individual qualities and features
• Build sales increasing basket value by suggesting additional relevant products that the customers might enjoy
• Confidently operate the tasting bar actively promoting Adnams product range
• Assist with deliveries including manual handling of cases of beer & wine
• Carry out deliveries to local customers

We will provide all the training you need to get you up to speed but what we do ask is that you are a hard working team member who uses their own initiative and loves being around people.

You will be required to work weekends, be flexible and hold a full UK driving licence.
